RELEASES

Changelog

Every tagged release of the NativeExpress codebase, newest first. Versions follow semantic versioning, and each date is the day that tag shipped.

  1. 2.1.2

A privacy fix for avatar storage, plus chat fixes. Existing projects run one SQL script from the release.

    • Nobody can list the avatars bucket any more, so user ids stay private. Avatars keep loading as before.
    • Reopening a chat thread no longer drops the last exchange, and on iPad the first reply of a new chat now appears.
    • Passwords accept any symbol as the special character, matching Supabase's own rule.
    • A failed font load no longer leaves the app on the splash screen.
    • Sign-in fields work with password managers and autofill, and the show-password button is labelled for screen readers.
    • The Edit Profile sheet rises above the keyboard.

  2. 2.1.1

Ready for Xcode 27 and iOS 27. No database changes; rebuild the native app after updating.

    • Apps built with Xcode 27 launch on iOS 27: the app adopts the scene lifecycle the iOS 27 SDK requires.
    • The project builds with Xcode 27, which rejected the push notification extension's old deployment target.
    • The Android build no longer asks for photo and video read permissions that Google Play rejects.
    • The edge functions work with Supabase's new API keys, ahead of the legacy keys being removed at the end of 2026.
    • The age-rating answers cover Apple's new social media question and no longer over-declare an AI chat.
    • The avatar picker no longer opens behind the Edit Profile drawer.

  3. 2.1.0

Your coding agent can now take the app from first prompt to store listing. No database changes; apps on 2.0.1 ship the app update before deploying the new edge functions.

    • Setup starts with a product brief: the agent asks a few questions, removes what the app does not need and walks you through the first build with an App Store Connect API key.
    • Remove Chat, Create, Scan, Sentry, OneSignal or PostHog with one command each.
    • A design skill generates your theme, font pair, app icon and splash screen from a seed colour and your logo.
    • Scripts submit the App Store and Google Play listings, privacy answers, age rating and releases, with one privacy config feeding both stores.
    • Chat, Create and Scan ask for AI consent before sending anything, as App Store review requires, and the server enforces it.
    • Sentry records screen load times and slow frames, and strips personal data from request URLs. Session replay stays off.
    • Paywall analytics count a paywall as shown only when it was on screen.
    • A pre-commit hook keeps formatting clean, and every script now runs on Windows.

  4. 2.0.1

    • Subscription status survives an entitlement refresh, so Pro access no longer drops out while RevenueCat reloads.
    • Hardened the AI quota counting, purchase handling and session cleanup.
    • Chat, image generation and scanning each live in their own feature folder, so an app can ship without the ones it does not need.
  5. 2.0.0

A rebuilt interface layer and three AI features. The database schema, styling system and AI functions all changed, so apps on 1.x follow the upgrade guide.

    • Streaming AI chat with threads, a model picker, Markdown replies, photo attachments and a monthly free quota.
    • Image generation with style presets, aspect ratios, a gallery, and save and share actions.
    • A camera scanner that returns structured results, with a scan history.
    • A three-step onboarding funnel with a notification primer and named paywall placements.
    • The interface rebuilt on Uniwind, Tailwind CSS v4 and HeroUI Native, replacing GlueStack UI and NativeWind.
    • Expo SDK 57, React Native 0.86, React 19.2 and TypeScript 6.
    • Eleven typed product events covering onboarding, authentication, the AI features, paywalls and Pro status.
    • Optional Superwall paywalls alongside RevenueCat.
    • iPad layouts, Jest and React Native Testing Library tests, and Maestro flows.
    • Setup, conventions and store-submission skills for coding agents, with yarn skills:doctor reporting what is still unconfigured.
    Upgrade from v1

    • Fixed the OneSignal push opt-in, an error when deleting an account, and the missing name on Sign in with Apple.
  13. 1.1.0

    • A Cursor rules file, so AI-assisted edits follow the codebase's conventions.
    • GlueStack UI and NativeWind upgrades.
